Hi Guys. Guess am gonna take up a full time job with Dev for reviewing games here. Na just joking. I enjoy playing games as also writing about them. Guess all of you do enjoy reading my reviews as much as I enjoy writing about them.
Well here is this one game, which I downloaded on the day of its release on June 7th. I have played this game and I think the game deserves a good Review. Somehow, it feels the game just passed of unnoticed in all the excitement of the WWDC meet.
The game in question is Chillingo’s ‘circuit_strike.one’. Ridiculously low priced, beautiful futuristic game. Low Priced? I do think so.
Read On:
circuit_strike.one
Genre: Space Shooter
Price: $0.99
circuit_strike.one(cs.one) is a visual array of dazzling effects and music. The highlight of the game is its unparalleled music. Yup, unlike other games, here I would say, the music of this game is the first and one of its kind in the iphone gaming and so are the visual effects.
cs.one is the first truly synesthetic shooter available for the iPhone. The ‘WOW FACTOR’ of this game is that all the Audio/Visual effects are mixed in real-time and triggered in sync with the Game Play & music while playing. A definitive first and so kool. The music, the beats, the vocals are simply outstanding. Why, I think if you just start the game and plug the iphone onto your amplifier system during a party you will have a dancing riot on your hands. Well enough said about music. Just one more thing – cs.one’s audio/visual effects, game play and environment were inspired by Cyberspace as described by William Gibson in his award winning Cyberpunk novel, Neuromancer and Neal Stephenson’s vision of the matrix in Snow Crash.
Initially, by default, you will have to play the game in the easy mode as the other two modes are locked. The Game offers two type of control schemes – Basic & advanced. My advise, stick on to the basic control system at least till the time you get the hang of the game. The basic control system consists of a 360 deg transparent D pad on the left hand side of the screen and two semitransparent buttons on the right side are for shooting and moving your ship. Here let me tell you, the game has got a steep learning curve and getting used to. Like moving your ship is difficult, in the sense, that the ship is in the sub zero gravity and so you will have to learn to short time your thrusts in order to move from one place to another without crashing into oncoming AI fighters or overshooting your target completely.
The objective of the game is to destroy the shield generators on each level, to drop the data core shield & access& destroy the data core .The shield generators are protected by turrets, semi intelligent tracers and AI fighters. Once the shield are down, you must destroy the data core before the self destruct timer goes to zero.
OK now on to another highlight wow factor of the game – ‘Bullet Time’ . Shaking your iphone slightly, starts / stops bullet time, provided you have enough left. the bullet time is collected by killing as many enemies as possible. The remaining bullet time is shown by the green LCD text in the upper right corner of the in game hud. During bullet time your ship is invincible and can travel through objects. Watch how the music / effects change in sync with the slow motion bullet time. Very impressive. Very dazzling. Very Matrix Like.
Well, once again let me tell you that the game has got a steep learning curve – you have to get used to the controls , the zero gravity environment and bullet time slow motion game mechanics and kill hoards of incoming enemies from all the sides. To tell you the truth , I have not been able to advance beyond 2nd level so far. But yeah, I am enjoying this game and the rave interactive music by 3I3Tronic.
The game is simply the best space shooter available right now on iPhone.
$0.99 cents on release? I think, this game is worth a little more, but hey who’s complaining.

Hi Guys. I was thinking of buying Peggle for quite some time now. Yesterday, when I saw that the game was on sale, I first posted the news in our Forum and then immediately bought the game.
Let me tell you again that the game is on sale for $ 0.99 and the sale ends on 14th midnight. The original price of the game was $4.99.
I am reviewing this game, so that it will help you decied if this game is your cuppa tea or not. Guys, I can not emphasize more, but this game is a absolute steel for $0.99.
Peggle
Genre: Puzzle / casual
Price: $4.99 $0.99
Peggle for iphone is developed by the creators of hugely popular ‘Bejeweled 2′.The PC version of peggle is already a hit phenomenon and now the game has arrived on iphone in its mobile avatar. Peggle , seems like a mashup of arcade pinball , brick breaking & bubble bashing games. While playing , I felt as if I was transported back to the days, when the only way to play a video game was to go to the local arcade joint – and I still remember our frenzied efforts at pinball machine.Similar kinda frenzy took over me while playing this high quality game.
The Look of the game is, well what to say? Gorgeous as are the sound effects. The game starts off with a very cute boot screen with the sun rising in the background.
The objective of the game is to eliminate all the 100 pegs/pegs + bricks etc on the screen with the 10 balls given to you, the layout differing and becoming more complicated with each level. You score as per the number of objects you eliminate from the screen, but to proceed to the next level you only need to eliminate all the orange colored pegs/objects. You have a canon on top of the screen with which you can aim the ball/marble on to the array of pegs. This aiming or setting up the trajectory of the marble can be done in number of ways -you can just tap the peg , or you can use the scroll wheel at the right side of the screen or you can touch and aim with the canon itself, although this obstructs the screen view a little. You can also double tap to zoom in on a particular area. After setting up the aim, you use the fire button situated at top right and watch the marble touch the pegs , bounce off from the sides and paddles (Like pin ball machine)& blast through and the pegs.
Ok , now there can be two ways of playing this game. Aim, fire and watch the marble hit random pegs- eliminate the orange pegs and proceed to the next level.
The second way is to calculate your aims, trajectories, bounce off paths for maximum effect. Please note that once the ball falls off the bottom, its gone. But there is a bucket at the bottom which continuously moves from left to right and back and if you are lucky your ball falls into the bucket and is added back to your inventory. Then there are various powerups to help you through the way. You can even see the replays of your shots to improve your game play further.
Here, I would have liked to see the bucket also having controllable movements with Tilt to add to the overall fun factor. maybe the developer will listen to my suggestion.
With about 55 levels to play through the game has awesome replay value. you can also play with a friend in the Duel mode.
So, Guys has any of my other reviews misled you before?
My advice: Go for it. Don’t Wait. Grab it.
Ah Ha. I was right. Well kinda.
I had written that tecmo is gonna release some more games in future. I had also speculated about Dead or Alive series. Read my Post Here.
So now what Tecmo has done? After releasing Rio Black Jack, Now they have come out with a new title- Ahem-
Girls of DOA Blackjack- Kasumi Version & unlike Rio Blackjack which was priced at $0.99 , this game is priced at $3.99.
Hmm, a tad little bit costlier. But I am sure, that the fans of the series will not be able to resist themselves. I am finding it difficult to resist myself. I have played the xbox game of beach volleyball you see .
And how tecmo is describing this game?
“With popular “Dead or Alive” character KASUMI, quickly and easily play
exciting blackjack anytime, anywhere!
KASUMI’s 3D character expressed by the finest animation leaps up at you
from the screen, and there are a lot of charming motions you can see only
in DOA BlackJack.
From the original outfit to a rare swimsuit, you can enjoy seeing KASUMI
dressed fashionably in a range of outfits. Have lots of fun playing
blackjack with KASUMI anytime in your favorite costume!”
Anyways check out the screen shots below:
I think this game is overpriced. The price factor would have been insignificant had they offered all the girls of DOA – Hitomi , Tina ( My Fav) , Christie & Ayane.
So I was right? And now I am even more sure, that we are gonna see DOA on our Iphones in more such minigames.
