circuit_strike.one (Kill Everything.Touch Nothing) – a Review of the Game.

Hi Guys. Guess am gonna take up a full time job with Dev for reviewing games here. Na just joking. I enjoy playing games as also writing about them. Guess all of you do enjoy reading my reviews as much as I enjoy writing about them.
Well here is this one game, which I downloaded on the day of its release on June 7th. I have played this game and I think the game deserves a good Review. Somehow, it feels the game just passed of unnoticed in all the excitement of the WWDC meet.
The game in question is Chillingo’s ‘circuit_strike.one’. Ridiculously low priced, beautiful futuristic game. Low Priced? I do think so.

circuit_strike.one(cs.one) is a visual array of dazzling effects and music. The highlight of the game is its unparalleled music. Yup, unlike other games, here I would say, the music of this game is the first and one of its kind in the iphone gaming and so are the visual effects.
cs.one is the first truly synesthetic shooter available for the iPhone. The ‘WOW FACTOR’ of this game is that all the Audio/Visual effects are mixed in real-time and triggered in sync with the Game Play & music while playing. A definitive first and so kool. The music, the beats, the vocals are simply outstanding. Why, I think if you just start the game and plug the iphone onto your amplifier system during a party you will have a dancing riot on your hands. Well enough said about music. Just one more thing – cs.one’s audio/visual effects, game play and environment were inspired by Cyberspace as described by William Gibson in his award winning Cyberpunk novel, Neuromancer and Neal Stephenson’s vision of the matrix in Snow Crash.
Initially, by default, you will have to play the game in the easy mode as the other two modes are locked. The Game offers two type of control schemes – Basic & advanced. My advise, stick on to the basic control system at least till the time you get the hang of the game. The basic control system consists of a 360 deg transparent D pad on the left hand side of the screen and two semitransparent buttons on the right side are for shooting and moving your ship. Here let me tell you, the game has got a steep learning curve and getting used to. Like moving your ship is difficult, in the sense, that the ship is in the sub zero gravity and so you will have to learn to short time your thrusts in order to move from one place to another without crashing into oncoming AI fighters or overshooting your target completely.
The objective of the game is to destroy the shield generators on each level, to drop the data core shield & access& destroy the data core .The shield generators are protected by turrets, semi intelligent tracers and AI fighters. Once the shield are down, you must destroy the data core before the self destruct timer goes to zero.
OK now on to another highlight wow factor of the game – ‘Bullet Time’
. Shaking your iphone slightly, starts / stops bullet time, provided you have enough left. the bullet time is collected by killing as many enemies as possible. The remaining bullet time is shown by the green LCD text in the upper right corner of the in game hud. During bullet time your ship is invincible and can travel through objects. Watch how the music / effects change in sync with the slow motion bullet time. Very impressive. Very dazzling. Very Matrix Like.

Well, once again let me tell you that the game has got a steep learning curve – you have to get used to the controls , the zero gravity environment and bullet time slow motion game mechanics and kill hoards of incoming enemies from all the sides. To tell you the truth , I have not been able to advance beyond 2nd level so far. But yeah, I am enjoying this game and the rave interactive music by 3I3Tronic.
The game is simply the best space shooter available right now on iPhone.
$0.99 cents on release? I think, this game is worth a little more, but hey who’s complaining.
